This is the wind country. It is almost entirely covered by a large desert, the Hidden Sand village hidden in the middle.

One of the 5 primary countries. This one as well, contains a Ninja of high class along with a primary village: Kumogakure and the Raikage. The Yotsuki Clan is founded here.

The country of water is yet another one of the primary 4 countries. The entire island country is covered by the sea. The 7 Swordsman of the Mist were founded here. The country consists of the Great Ninja Village, Kirigakure.

The country of Earth holds the fifth primary village. It has a long history of Doton users and wars that led to its current state.

The Land of Sound was previously known as "Land of Rice Fields", but was one day conquered for the purpose of opening an illegal village there. There's almost nothing known about this place.

There are lots of other countries and villages around the world. Although not as great as the primary 5, they serve the world some force as well.
